What the Hell Was That

[Spy looks great on screen for a man who’s still dealing with a couple broken ribs and gashes from the latest event.
He holds his posture perfect. Honestly, one wouldn’t know he was hurt unless he’s told you already. Maybe the empty bottles hidden in the background and the rumpled bed sheets, indicating he was there sleeping for most of the time.]

Bonsoir, I’m back. I’m sure, poor news for whoever tried to kill me and the rest of the inmates here. To you, I invite you to my cabin. We can chat more personally.

[The last statement is dripping in venom. A thin-lipped smile showing just for a moment before going back to a relatively neutral expression]

I make this because I want to know what all that was. You can’t honestly tell me that this was all just part of a normal breach or port on this barge so for anyone with answers, please share.

Oh, I suppose if you need a place to vent about this, you may do so below. I can’t say I’m as interested in this but it is a public forum so by all means, make yourselves at home here.

[Of course he comes. Spy can’t resist answers. He sees the open door, how inviting this looks and hesitates. He’s not sure for a split second but his desire for answers outweighs his concern]

Precisely at noon there’s a knock on Spy’s door]

[Spy had time to prepare. He didn’t have his knives so he improvised by breaking one of his empty wine bottles. He kept it behind his back as he opened the door.]

Come in. I have lots of questions

[Trevor stands at the door, weaponless. And, perhaps a little distressingly, not quite alive.

He’s not breathing. He has no heartbeat. His eyes glow a sickly pale blue and his skin is a decayed gray, cold toughness.

He smiles at Spy, winking at him as he walks in.]

[This unsettles the Frenchman enough to make him step back out of the way without a word.
So this man wasn’t unaffected by the chaos. Interesting]

I suppose I just wanted to know why? What was killing over half the barge going to get you?

Obviously, I look alive now. All the wardens had to come get us from our own personal hells. That doesn’t mean there aren’t remaining injuries or grievances
